Welcome to My Journal

Published 6 May 2004

Hi! You've stumbled upon a blog post by a guy named Ryan. I'm not that guy anymore, but I've left his posts around because cool URIs don't change and to remind me how much I've learned and grown over time.

Ryan was a well-meaning but naïve and priviledged person. His views don't necessarily represent the views of anyone.

Inspired by the livejournal of a certain cowgirl, I've realized the utility of an online diary. Too proud to sign up for a third-party service, however, I decided to code one for myself. Hopefully this will serve to keep those precious few interested in my day-to-day current with my thoughts and feelings.

After almost a month of butt-sitting, things are finally starting to kick into gear. Instead of no jobs, I've now got two (both of which I may quit if I get this third). I've travelled to the top of Michigan and the bottom of Florida, and a jet plane with me on it will fly to the Grand Canyon in a week.

Looks like I'll be summering in scenic Alma, Michigan, where I will be doing web design over the summer. So far I've heard rumors of several friends living up there as well, so maybe it will be more fun than expected.

Right now I have to get into the shower. I'm going clubbing. No, not the kind where you get wasted and express your sexual frustration with hundreds of strangers, but the kind where you serve food and beverages to grouchy rich people…woo hoo, fun.

Not really.

But it is money, with which I can't argue now.
