Worked my butt off…
Published 2 June 2004
Hi! You've stumbled upon a blog post by a guy named Ryan. I'm not that guy anymore, but I've left his posts around because cool URIs don't change and to remind me how much I've learned and grown over time.
Ryan was a well-meaning but naïve and priviledged person. His views don't necessarily represent the views of anyone.
…finally! It's nice having employment to fill my schedule and wear me out. I remembered why I love working at the Club as well—friendly people my age. All of them remember me, ask how I've been, how was London...getting paid $80 bucks in six hours, three of which I do nothing but talk business, do the crossword puzzle and read. Can't wait for Wednesday when I really get to work.
Alma, of course, is being Alma. Turns out they expect a college graduate working for $8/hr to share an un-a/c'd 11.5 x 11.4 room with a guy he doesn't know. You can pull that with a 19-year-old research assistant, but not someone with a bachelor's degree doing skilled work, it's rude. So I may be doing more clubbing
than excpected…such is life.
I'm also trying my hand at fiction again. It's been a while since I've done prose, but so far so good...email me for an exerpt!
