Late Night in Alma

Published 22 July 2004

Hi! You've stumbled upon a blog post by a guy named Ryan. I'm not that guy anymore, but I've left his posts around because cool URIs don't change and to remind me how much I've learned and grown over time.

Ryan was a well-meaning but naïve and priviledged person. His views don't necessarily represent the views of anyone.

I'm in the process of updating everything on this site, so please be patient#8212;some links will be dead.

Life's a whirlwind when you're Ryan Cannon, I guess.

Perhaps letting my life settle into a grind would be too easy. Perhaps my soul just craves misadventure. At least I make things interesting. Whatever the reason, hopefully my vagabond lifestyle will cool slightly. Alma College has been so entranced with my CSS work and knowledge of all-things-web that they've offered me a year-long contract teaching others as well. Not a bad deal, with free rent to boot…but it is Alma.

Part of the reason I love my job, we took a double-lunch today to see I, Robot, which was surprisingly good, for a cheesey, robot attack movie. Amazing camera and special effects—they managed to find a way to do computer animation and keep people in it.

I picked up Dragons of Autumn Twilight, a novel I first read in sixth grade, just to see if it was as good as I remembered. I was amazed to find cheesey fantasy novels still enthrall me, and plan to read more of the Dragonlance series.

Keep in touch!
