Your Mac is watching you

Hi! You've stumbled upon a blog post by a guy named Ryan. I'm not that guy anymore, but I've left his posts around because cool URIs don't change and to remind me how much I've learned and grown over time.
Ryan was a well-meaning but naïve and priviledged person. His views don't necessarily represent the views of anyone.
While I was trying to solve the most recent Mac Heist, I came upon a sight that truly frightened me. It requires a Mac with an iSight, so if you have one, try and look beyond the red. I saw a Criminal Minds episode about this...
According to Chris Adamson's article, Quartz Composer iSight Prank, the images cannot be sent over the wire, so you can't really be spyed on...at least not without some other malware running on your system also. Apparently it's pretty easy to do--maybe I'll crack open my Developer Tools when I get a spare minute and give it a shot.
While we're being scared--do you want to see a ghost? When I found this a few months ago on Favourite Web Awards, I was amazed at how it tweaks Internet conventions to make something pretty darn scary.
