Big Sur Marathon Relay (2023)

Big Sur is my favorite place in the world. The combination of sea and pines and mountains is powerful, magical and a little scary. It’s also bonkers beautiful.

I approached this race wanting to push my pace — it’s a bit shorter than my 70.3 plan, and so I wanted to see what I could do. I even drew the route and uploaded it to TriDot to get a pace recommendation.

And then I beat it by 10s/mile.

I’m ecstatic at my performance, awed at the scenery and grateful to have an awesome team. The group has an energy that brings out the best in me.

It was a great race.
