This race was more vacation than competition, and while I pushed hard performed well, and enjoyed the race, what made it special was the team.
South Bay Squad team events are magical, and this one was no different. We stayed at a team house, ate together and took time after the event to attend the Wisconsin State Fair, complete with edible insects!
It was exactly the escape I needed from a personal life that was mid-collapse, and I couldn't have needed it more.
