La Cuesta Ranch Trail Run (2024)

In planning my 2024 season, I wanted a change. Triathlon was no longer sparking joy in the same way that swimrun does, but that sport is still young and the races are few and far between. Trail running seemed like a natural evolution.

It's weird to admit that I'm at the point in my training where the sixteen-odd miles wasn't intimidating at all. The 4400 feet of elevation, however, was. The race wasn't just tall, but steep with rocky hills that required grueling climbs and careful descents.

The views, however were gorgeous.
