Malibu Canyon 50k (2024)

I signed up for this race as a stepping stone toward ÖTILLÖ, the Swimrun World Championship, buoyed by a few of my friends and team mates doing it as well. I was massively intimidated by the distance and elevation, but with a 17.5 hour cutoff, I knew I'd get it done one way or another.

Almost 5000 feet of elevation took its toll on me. By mile 20 it felt like less of a run than a trudge. But I pushed through it, and I finished running as hard as I could — despite being unable to get my heart rate over 120.

Regardless, I'm incredibly proud of the results and grateful for the folks that came to race with me and cheer me on.
